According to Jim McKay of TEAM for West Virginia's Children, "A baby dies every 10 days in WV due to accidental suffocation or strangulation when parents co-sleep with their babies or have their babies sleep on couches, recliners, beds or other adult furniture that is unsafe for babies."

Simple, bold and upbeat graphics were utilized to convey critical information on how to safely put a baby to sleep -and how not to. In a 14-month period in 2011, over 75,000 materials were distributed to social workers and hospital/medical facilities statewide. Materials are available to organizations by mail-order and electronically.

As with the Keep Your Cool campaign, TV/social video and radio spots have also aired state-wide and have been picked up by organizations in other states. The informative print pieces have also been distributed statewide by the thousands to hospitals and social outreach centers.
